Read on to find out how to use Baking Soda beyond baking!
Baking Soda is usually a staple in any household, especially if you’re a baker.
As a green and natural mama, I use baking soda every day in several different ways. I call it my secret weapon! Besides being super inexpensive, it is readily available, non-toxic, comes in a recyclable NON plastic container and is very versatile.
How to Use Baking Soda
Here are 3 ways to use baking soda that don’t involve…baking!
1. Scrubbing Pots, pans, dishes….-Left the oatmeal in the pot and ran to preschool drop off? Me too! Sprinkle some baking soda in the pot, right on top of the caked-on mess, add a little water, let it sit a bit and the mess will clean up very easily! Works well everything, including grease, dried up, starchy pasta, burned cheese, you name it…baking soda can handle it!
2. Deodorant/anti perspirant-I am a firm believer that using anti perspirant CANNOT be good for you. I chose to switch to an all natural deodorant years ago, but don’t like that it is packaged in a plastic container. I recently found @plasticfreebeth of http://myplasticfreelife.com/. She suggested using baking soda as an alternative to deodorant and antiperspirants and I CANNOT BELEIVE THE RESULTS. I put baking soda to the ultimate test. I applied some to my under arms then proceeded to vacuum my entire house, mop the floors, fold two loads of laundry and then rode my bike to and from the beach, after spending 2 hours in the hot sun. All I can say is I’ve switched, will never go back and have never found anything to be as effective! Thanks Beth!
3. Soap Scrub Remover-wet the tub, sink, shower with water, sprinkle with a layer of baking soda, let sit for a few minutes and get scrubbing. The soap scum, mildew stains and grime will melt away.

I seriously love finding new ways to use everyday products, and though I’m already a huge believer in baking soda, I never thought to use it as a natural deodorant/antiperspirant. Great idea!
I knew baking soda had many uses but I did not know it could be used for deodorant. Fantastic!
Wow!! I have to say, I am up for the deoderant/anti-perspirant challenge! I always have boxes of this superpower on hand, but never thought to sprinkle it on my underarms. I accept! Thanks for the post.
YIPPEE let me know how you make out!
I always say I should use baking say more often. Maybe this summer, I will.
Great ideas! IT is a super product and all natural! I use it to clean everything!
Thanks for the tips. I can usually find baking soda on sale a couple times a year at Walgreens!
