It’s Christmas in July from Michaels.

Michaels home and craft store took me by surprise with their beautiful holiday displays and easy yet stunning DIY projects. Although I own a glue gun, I am not what anyone would call crafty. But after seeing the many gorgeous displays created by DIY projects, I think I am ready to turn a new leaf. Maybe if I start practicing now, I could make my living room look like theirs did…..

Here are some snapshots of the looks you can create from the goodies available at Michaels. They even have DIY instructions along side many of the displays. Whether your taste leans more toward the classic red and green or to the romance of silver and blue, Michaels has it all ready for you.

I love the idea of using plain brown paper and decorating it with stamps and reusable ribbons and bows. I only use repurposed boxes and I love the idea of a gorgeous ribbon and added ornament, or “pick” as they say in the craft world. (a pick is a small stick of flower, stem, berry or decorative piece) I also loved the DIY chalk paint ornaments, I know the children would love to create their own chalk scenes. And as always, advent calendars reign in blocks, wall hangings as well as other DIY options.
