Should An Accident Advice Helpline Be Free?

Accident advice helplines are services usually operated by law firms which aim to provide people who have been injured in an accident that was someone else’s fault and people with an otherwise legitimate claim for compensation with advice for seeking justice. By calling an accident advice helpline, you can get answers to the following questions plus much more:

An experienced helpline, such as Accident Advice Helpline’s 24/7 helpline (click here), will be able to provide you with definitive or estimated answers to the above questions. AAH’s advice claim line can be reached on 0800 689 0500 or from your mobile on 0333 500 0993.

Access to claims advice and initial legal expertise should be free

Use of this service should always be free. Such is the competitiveness of the claims industry that a law firm simply wouldn’t get by if they charged members of the public for access to claims advice. Plus, it wouldn’t look right alongside conditional fee agreements, which stipulate that the claimant doesn’t have to pay any legal fees upfront.

The cost of calling an advice line

As discussed above, the service provided by accident advice helplines is free – and there’s no obligation to proceed with a claim either. However, there may be a charge for calling an accident advice helpline, depending on the number you call and the device you use to call it.

To keep costs to a minimum, only contact accident advice helplines with a Freephone telephone number (0800). These are usually free from a landline, and they may be free from your mobile – you should ask your network provider about this. If they are not free from your mobile, then the cost will be between 7p and 40p per minute.

You might also like to use a landline number or a UK-wide geographic number. These are traditionally covered by mobile phone network providers and free from landlines. As with mobiles, though, consult your telephone provider to find out more.

In Summary

The advice provided by claims advisors is free – and it always will be. However, you may be charged for the telephone calls you make. Either way, the claims advice you will receive is nothing short of invaluable and will help you to make the right decision moving forward.
